AUBERT Studio in Bayonne Bullfight - The Fall of the Picador, September 4, 1932 PHOTOGRAPH. Silver print in sepia, watermarked and dated within the image. 38.5 x 22.5 cm (Tear) The year 1932 marked an important event in Bayonne’s history, as it was in that same year that the Bayonne Festival was first held. The bullfight depicted here featured performances by Manuel Bienvenida, Solorzano, and “El Estudiante.” On the bullfighting side, the Urcola ranch took center stage by presenting a selection of six bulls and one reserve bull. This bullfight was organized by the Association of Professional Journalists of Bayonne and the Basque Country.
