José Antonio SISTIAGA (1932–2023) Nude, March 31, 1972 Black oil pastel on cream paper, signed and dated lower center. 50 x 35 cm Provenance: Artist’s collection, by inheritance. A certificate of authenticity from the Art Sistiaga estate may be provided to the buyer. The series of nudes, followed by the erotic series, produced a large number of works. Created in pastel, whose intensity allows for a skillful play of shadows, these works are characterized by a bold and sometimes daring choice of framing, reminiscent of photography or cinema, capturing improvised moments.
