Eugène Ernest HILLEMACHER (1818-1887) La petite garde-malade, circa 1856-1857 Oil on canvas signed, dated 1857 and dedicated "to his friend Judicis" on the back. 22 x 27 cm Louis Judicis de Mirandol, born November 24, 1816 in Saint-Brieuc and died August 24, 1893 in Fontainebleau, was a French literary journalist, playwright and novelist. He was also librettist to the Hillemacher brothers, renowned Parisian composers. Our work is a preparatory study for a painting of the same name painted in 1856. Related bibliography: S.
