ATTACHED: - Letterhead from La Bergerie Baron Phillipe dated February 7, 1983, announcing the win and specifying the number of pieces. - Certificate of authenticity from DAUM, specifying copy number I out of 20. - 2 leaflets illustrating the Décantoir au Mouton, for the second edition (1987) and the draw of January 22, 1988. History: The limited edition of only 20 of this creation by François-Xavier Lalanne and Daum France, produced by the Baron Philippe de Rothschild company (then called La Bergerie), was most probably the result of a personal initiative by Baron Philippe de Rothschild. These decanters were intended to honor the company's most loyal and fortunate customers. Indeed, following an order for wine, a draw was held, known as the Saint-Vincent (patron saint of winegrowers). The catalog referring to our decanter model was published by Baron Philippe de Rothschild in autumn 1982. The decanters were therefore made that year, to be offered at the beginning of 1983 on Saint-Vincent's Day, January 22, 1983. From the documents enclosed with this example, we learn that a second edition of the decanter for the 1988 Saint-Vincent raffle was produced, with a further 10 off-the-shelf examples numbered XXI to XXX.
