DRALLET: Description des Pyrénées Arthus Bertrand, 1813. - Lot 829
DRALLET: Description des Pyrénées Arthus Bertrand, 1813. 2 vol. in-8 half-basane of the period, smooth spine decorated (spines faded, one cap worn, lack of leather on the spine of vol. 2, slight foxing, a few tears). Complete with 6 tables and 2 folding maps. Uncommon. Much sought after. Important work. The work begins with a chronological list of authors who have published works related to the Pyrenees; then it is divided into five parts: I. Geology; II. Political reports; III. Rural and forestry economy; IV. Industry; V. Commerce. The two folding maps in Volume I are reprints of maps that appeared in the Voyages au Mont Perdu and the other in the Observations de Ramond; these two maps are often missing. To note the account of the ascent to Tuquerouye in company of Ramond. Printed at 1200 copies according to the Bibliographie de l'Empire Français ou Journal de l'Imprimerie et de la Librairie, [2e Année, Tome 3, Paris, Imprimerie de Pillet, 1813, N° 1445].
